ED CORPS HIGH SCHOOL

ED Corps High School is an innovative learning environment with a blended curriculum that focuses on project-based learning, flexible virtual assignments, one-on-one mentored sessions, and small group learning camps. Academic courses are supplemented with life skills development, leadership engagement, certification programs, and career alignment for long-term success.  Our teachers are required to have a valid Florida Department of Education teacher certificate and participate in on-going professional development training. They are also supported in their attempts to pursue additional endorsements to include Exceptional Student Education (ESE). Our program and staff members are nationally recognized.

ED Corps is all about relationships. Our dedicated faculty and staff assist each student to develop a path to graduation with customized class schedules that leverage the individual’s learning style.

“We have learned that many students respond well to learning with a hands-on approach. We spend about a third of our time outdoors, exploring environmental restoration and conservation projects, learning conservation skills, and mitigating potential disasters. These activities bring the relevance of academics into real life experiences” comments Elinor Mount-Simmons, veteran educator and ED Corps Administrator.

As a private school, ED Corps High School accepts students begining at 16 years old. Thanks to a partnership with STEP UP FOR STUDENTS, all students are eligible for scholarships to attend ED Corps High School. The scholarships cover the annual tuition which is $13,152.40 ($13,211.00 for graduating Seniors). Parents must complete the Step Up for Students application as part of the enrolment process. ED Corps does not provide transportation.

Students aged 17 and older are eligible to participate in the Opportunity Youth Service Initiative provided through Franklin’s Promise Coalition by the Corps Network and AmeriCorps. AmeriCorps is a national service program centered around providing life and work skills that lead to career pathways. Students complete weekly field work and earn a stipend for completing important environmental projects . Upon successful completion of their service and high school credits, they receive a Segal Education Award in the amount of $2,360. Students are also eligible for financial incentives for early course completions.

ED Corps High School is approved by the Florida Department of Education, School Code 7952
