CONSTRUCTION "training the future workforce and addressing community needs"

Crew members master construction skills by upgrading parks and playgrounds, renovating community centers and repairing infrastructure. Identifying affordable housing as a primary community need, crews will construct housing through a partnership with the City of Apalachicola.

Crew members and Corps leadership have honed their construction skills with projects ranging from rebuilding boardwalks, stairs and railings to complete renovations of community buildings. Through projects with the City of Apalachicola, the crew has assembled new playgrounds, restored picnic tables and park amenities, as well as constructed and installed interpretive signage in parks and on public lands. The Conservation Corps of the Forgotten Coast has earned a place as valued community partners. Partnering with the Conservation Corps is a cost effective solution for construction, maintenance and renovation projects. It is a mutually beneficial relationship for the community, for the crew members, and for municipal managers which provides meaningful training and experience for area youth to complete community projects in a cost effective manner. The Conservation Corps of the Forgotten Coast looks forward to addressing affordable housing through a partnership with the City of Apalachicola.
